Mission: To utilize Lacrosse as a tool to develop positive life skills and encourage academic achievement in youth, particularly children who would otherwise not be exposed to the sport.
Objective: Working with the Police Athletic League and Duval County Public Schools, the Lighthouse Lacrosse Foundation will help provide the resources to expand lacrosse to core city neighborhoods as well as Jacksonville Middle and High Schools. Our objective will be to provide BOTH lacrosse instruction and life skills enrichment to youth from diverse populations.
About our Grant Program: The Lighthouse Lacrosse Foundation has instituted a grant program to supplement the fundraising efforts of lacrosse programs in Duval County.
Congratulations to the recipients of the first round of grants from Lighthouse Lacrosse. Grants were awarded to 5 high schools (Paxon, Sandalwood, Mandarin, Lee, and Stanton), Ft. Caroline Middle School and the Police Athletic League.

Equipment Grant Policy
“Working with the Police Athletic League and the Duval County Public Schools, the Lighthouse Lacrosse Foundation will help provide the resources to expand lacrosse to core city neighborhoods as well as Jacksonville middle and high schools.”
Our Objective:
In furtherance of our mission to provide the resources necessary to expand lacrosse to core city neighborhoods and Jacksonville area schools, we have developed this Equipment Grant Policy to provide a mechanism for other non-profit organizations and certain Jacksonville area public middle and high schools to obtain lacrosse equipment.
The following is a summary of Lighthouse Lacrosse Foundation’s Equipment Grant Policy.
Types of Grants:
The types of equipment grants available under this policy are as follows:
- New Start Equipment Grants: New Start Equipment Grants shall consist of up to: (i) two goals; (ii) two sets of full protective equipment for goalies; (iii) twenty sets of equipment for players (includes sticks, eye protection, helmets, gloves, pads and mouth guards) and (iv) any other related items that the Equipment Grant Committee deems to be appropriate for the particular grant recipient; and
- Matching Equipment Grants: Matching Equipment Grants shall consist of up to ½ of the equipment to be purchased by the recipient for its own account.
Eligible Recipients:
The following entities are eligible for “New Start Equipment Grants”:
- Non-profit organizations, such as the Police Athletic League, who are committed to developing a forum where Jacksonville area teens can learn and play the sport of lacrosse and such non-profit organization is within its first three years of developing a lacrosse program; and
- Jacksonville areas public middle and high schools within its first three years of developing a lacrosse program at the school.
The following entities are eligible for “Matching Equipment Grants”:
- Non-profit organizations, such as the Police Athletic League, who are committed to developing a forum where Jacksonville area teens can learn and play the sport of lacrosse; and
- Jacksonville areas public middle and high schools with established and on-going lacrosse programs.
